This retreat will include excursions to beautiful scenic areas such as Loch Katrine and Lake of Menteith, the capital city of Edinburgh, Stirling Castle (named as one of top 40 experiences in Europe by Lonely Planet), Edinburgh castle (one of the top 10 largest castles in the world), and Doune castle, which is used as a stand-in for the fictional "Leoch Castle" in Showtime's Outlander series, Winterfell in the HBO Series Game of Thrones, and Monty Python's Holy Grail. OUR TRIP
lands us in Scotland in the Autumn season, one of the most beautiful times to visit! Lonely Planet recently rated Scotland and in particular the area of The Trossachs as one of the best places to see autumn foliage. The Lodge is in the middle of the Scottish hills, on ancestral Celtic land with many stunning walks and hikes nearby. The surrounding landscape is stunning wilderness in the heart of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It is an area of raw, rugged beauty and history. The nearby colorful town of Callendar has a beautiful waterfall and plenty of shopping, tea shops and restaurants.
